The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) submitted a warning to Delhi Police on Tuesday. In response to online threats of rape directed towards Vamika. The nine-month-old daughter of Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma.
The DCW has ordered that swift action against the online troll in a notice sent to the Deputy Commissioner of the Delhi Police Cyber Crime Branch.
“It’s claimed that online threats are made to rape Virat Kohli’s nine-month-old female kid following the team’s failure in the last India Pakistan cricket match,” DCW said, taking Suo Moto notice of the threats. “He is also being assaulted because he spoke out against the persistent trolling of his colleague Md Shami, who was targeted by internet trolls for his religion,” the statement continued.
DCW requested a copy of the FIR filed in the case. As well as information on the accused, identified and arrested, as well as information on the police action taken if the accused has not yet apprehended.
