Mumbai Police arrested Raj Kundra, the businessman husband of actress Shilpa Shetty, on Monday night. For reportedly producing and distributing adult films using mobile apps.
“On 19/7/21, we apprehended Mr. Raj Kundra in this matter. Since he looks to be the main conspirator. With strong evidence, I’m speaking. Please be patient while we do our inquiry.” Hemant Nagrale, the Mumbai Police Commissioner, states.
In addition, Mr. Kundra has requested anticipatory release in the matter, denying any wrongdoing.
Besides, Kundra got impose. With deceiving, under the Information Technology Act. Which includes engaging in indecent acts in public places, and publicly presenting or circulating vulgar publications or material.
Shetty and Kundra married each other in 2009. They have two children. Viaan, who is nine years old, and his one-year-old daughter Samisha. The couple disclosed that Samisha was born to them through surrogacy.
Raj Kundra’s Wrong Doings
Later on, Police filed two FIRs and arrested nine individuals for reportedly “pushing” actors to shoot naked scenes for adult films, according to a newspaper. However, These films were also released/streamed via paid mobile applications, according to the investigation.
As per the Crime Branch, after shooting the adult films, the accused used ‘WeTransfer’ to deliver them to a foreign-based company. Posted them to multiple apps to avoid Indian law. During the investigation, the Crime Branch arrested Umesh Kamat. He is a former employee of Kundra. Kundra’s major role in the adult content racket was revealed after his arrest. Although, the Crime Branch didn’t arrest him at the time due to a lack of evidence.
