For how long it has been, Moon Knight never got an actor to play it. Until now that is. At first the rumor mill was swirling around with conceived notion that Keanu Reeves would play Marvel’s own Batman. For years have gone by, a pandemic has arrived, and now Marvel has finally found their guy. And that is Oscar Isaacs.
Who Is The Moon Knight
Moon Knight is a vigilante superhero who uses multiple disguises to step into different lives. In order to fight crime. An ex-mercenary who made a deal with an Egyptian moon god, called Khonshu, that gave him mysterious powers. Upon returning to the United States, he started disguising himself as a millionaire named Steven Grant. By using the money he earned from his mercenary career. Other times he dresses himself as a Taxi cab driver, named Jack Lockley to get information around the streets. Beyond these two, he also dons other multiple identities.
Marvel hasn’t done a good job keeping this a secret though. As various interviews and press coverages managed to get information about Oscar Isaac having to take the role of the possessed superhero. Before-hand. While this is Isaac’s first leading superhero role, this isn’t his first rodeo into comic heroes. He played Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse. Which was a villain role but was well-received in theaters.
When Does The Movie Start Production?
Those details haven’t been finalized as the film is only starting production and shooting. The entire cast hasn’t been announced, but other rumors suggest Ethan Hawke and May Calamawy to star in supporting roles. Jeremy Slater is currently the writer of the film, with the production being helmed by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead.
The release is planned to be somewhere late 2022. Somewhere between the Doctor Strange and Thor sequel.
