On the charge of stealing goods from the Dhaka Metro Rail project, Rab members arrested 11 members. It was a work of an organized theft gang. During a raid in the Shah Ali Beribandh area, a Rab team apprehended them, along with the worth of the stolen goods around Tk 25 lakh. According to a press release issued by Rab-4′s media officer, Sajedul Islam Sazar, a truck, and a private car were also involved.
Four of the convicts are directly involved in stealing goods from various sites. Five are brokers who assist them in selling the goods, and the remaining two are buyers.
Rab has also released the names of the thieves. Motaleb Sikder, Nazrul Islam, Habib Ullah Bhuiyan, Waliulalh Alias Babu, Abdullah Al Mamun. Sumon Ghosh, Abdus Sattar, Mohammad Ashique, Amzad Hossain Rajon, Monir, and Reazul are among those who have been arrested.
