Hadisa Akhter Poppy (18), a college student, committed suicide by composing a letter at Ishwarganj, Mymensingh. The young woman was forced to commit suicide, according to the letter, after her partner cheated on her.
Nevertheless, the young woman’s relationship was attempted to be settled locally by transferring funds. Angry, the young woman wrapped a scarf around her neck and committed herself in her home’s bathroom at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
“Monaim, be well,” the young woman said in a letter before committing suicide. With a simple heart, I adored you. You, on the other hand, do not comprehend my affection. I don’t want to live with this contaminated appearance any longer. I’m not sure what crime it was for me to love you with a pure heart. I’m sorry I haven’t seen you before; you already know how much I adore you. However, I want you to be excellent for the rest of your life. I’m not sure why you did it to me. I’m not sure how much harm you caused. I dedicated my entire life to you. It has nothing to do with the body. Nevertheless, you simply choose my body. ‘With a pure heart, I fell in love with you.’
Poppy’s Suicide’s Aftermath
Hadisa Akhter Poppy, a second-year student at Muminunnesa Government College in Mymensingh, was identified as the dead. Moreover, she is the daughter of Tahur Uddin, a resident of Maricharchar Namapara village in Ishwarganj upazila’s Uchakhila union. He fell in love with his university student neighbor Monaim Mia. Amir Ali, a liberation warrior from the same area, is Monaim’s father.
The young woman’s connection was exposed just a few days ago, according to her relatives. The young lady asked to get married. Later, the issue was unfairly resolved on a community scale. To resolve the case, the girl’s family was handed Rs 5 lakh. The girl, on the other hand, was not on track. On Sunday, she took his own life.
Since the event, Monaim’s family members had been on the run and could not be reached for comment. “I have lost my daughter,” Tahur Uddin, the girl’s father, said. For what he did to my daughter, I want harsh punishment.
According to the officer in charge (OC) of the Ishwarganj police station. As per Abdul Quader Mia, the young woman committed herself because she refused to marry following a love affair. However, the body was retrieved and sent to the Medical Morgue in Mymensingh. In the aftermath of the event, a charge of provoking suicide was brought.
